Features & Key Specifications of Our LSC Series:
Precise Speed Regulation:
The knurled adjustment knob allows for sensitive, fine-tuned control of the cylinder's speed, while the lock nut prevents accidental changes to the setting.
360° Swivel for Easy Installation:
The elbow body can be rotated a full 360 degrees after the thread has been tightened, allowing for perfect alignment of the tubing in any direction.
Optimized for "Meter-Out" Control:
The integrated check valve allows free flow of air into the cylinder for a quick response, and precise, adjustable restricted flow out of the cylinder for smooth speed control.
Universal Thread Availability (NPT, BSPP, BSPT):
To ensure global compatibility, all our LSC speed controllers are available in the three major international standards.
Instant Push-to-Connect Design:
The one-touch fitting allows for quick and easy connection of nylon or polyurethane tubing.
Full Range of Metric & Imperial Sizes:
We offer a complete selection of sizes to control cylinders of all types, accommodating tubing from 4mm to 12mm and various thread sizes.
Application Fields
Essential for Any Application Requiring Controlled Speed:
Pneumatic Cylinders & Actuators: The primary application is to control the extend and/or retract speed of any pneumatic actuator.
Industrial Automation: Controlling the speed of pick-and-place units, conveyors, and clamping mechanisms.
Machine Building: Integrating precise speed control directly at the point of use, resulting in cleaner and more efficient circuits.
Robotics: Fine-tuning the motion of pneumatic grippers and robotic arms.
Technical & Selection Guide
How to Properly Control Cylinder Speed
For the smoothest and most stable control of a standard double-acting cylinder, you should always use the "Meter-Out" method. This means you control the air leaving the cylinder.
Install one LSC speed controller on each of the cylinder's two ports.
Turn the adjustment knob to control the speed of the corresponding stroke (extend or retract).
By controlling the exhaust air, you create a stable back-pressure on the piston, which prevents jerky or uncontrolled movement.
FAQ
Frequently Asked questions
Q: What is the difference between a speed controller and a simple needle valve?
A: A speed controller (flow control valve) restricts flow in only one direction and allows free flow in reverse. This is essential for controlling a cylinder. A needle valve restricts flow equally in both directions and cannot provide stable speed control.
Q: What does "SC 08-02G" mean?
A: "SC" typically stands for Speed Controller. "08" means it is for 8mm OD tubing. "02" means the thread is 1/4". The "G" suffix specifies a BSPP (G) thread.
Q: Can I use one speed controller to control both extend and retract speed?
A: No. Since air flows in different directions for extend and retract strokes, you need two separate speed controllers (one for each port) to independently control the speed of each movement.
