Features & Key Specifications
Features & Key Specifications of Our Diaphragm Pilot Valves:
High-Flow Pilot-Operated Design:
The pilot-operated diaphragm mechanism enables extremely high flow rates (CV up to 48) and is ideal for rapidly filling or draining tanks and controlling main fluid lines.
Brass or Stainless Steel Body:
Choose the material that best suits your needs. Brass offers excellent performance and value for general-purpose applications. 316 Stainless Steel provides superior corrosion resistance for more demanding or hygienic environments.
General Purpose Media Compatibility:
A true all-rounder, this valve is designed for use with a variety of neutral media, including compressed air, water, and light oils (up to 50 CST viscosity).
Wide Range of Sizes (3/8" to 2"):
This series covers all common industrial pipe sizes, from 3/8" up to 2", ensuring you can find the right valve for your flow requirements.
Multiple Seal Options (NBR, EPDM, Viton):
Standard NBR seals are great for air and oil. Optional EPDM seals are ideal for hot water, while Viton (FKM) is recommended for certain chemicals and higher temperatures.
Application Fields
The Go-To Valve for Countless On-Off Applications:
Irrigation Systems: Reliable control for agricultural and landscape watering zones.
Industrial Water Control: Main shut-off valves for equipment cooling lines, water treatment systems, and process water.
Air Compressors: Used as a main line shut-off or unloading valve on large compressor systems.
Car Wash Systems: Durable control of water and soap lines.
General Industrial: Any application requiring high-flow, on-off control of a neutral liquid or gas.
Technical & Selection Guide
Understanding Pilot-Operated Valves
A pilot-operated valve like this one requires a minimum operating pressure (in this case, 0.5 bar) to function correctly. It uses this inlet pressure to help lift the main diaphragm.
Choose this Pilot-Operated Valve if: Your system pressure will always be above 0.5 bar. This design gives you the highest possible flow for the lowest cost.
Choose a Direct-Acting Valve if: Your system pressure might drop to zero, such as in a gravity-fed tank draining application.
Brass vs. Stainless Steel:
Brass (PU Series): The industry standard for most water and air applications. Cost-effective and durable.
Stainless Steel (SPU Series): Choose for drinking water (potable), food-grade applications, saltwater, deionized water, or mildly corrosive chemicals.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does "Normally Closed (N.C.)" mean?
A: It means the valve is closed when no power is applied, blocking flow. It opens to allow flow only when the coil is energized. This is the most common and fail-safe configuration.
Q: Will this valve work if I have no pressure in my line?
A: No. As a pilot-operated valve, it requires a minimum pressure of 0.5 bar (approx. 7 psi) to open reliably. For zero-pressure applications, you need a direct-acting solenoid valve.
Q: Can I use this valve for thick oil or slurry?
A: No. This valve is designed for clean fluids with a low viscosity (up to 50 CST). Thick or dirty fluids can clog the small pilot channel and prevent the valve from operating.
