4L & 3L Series Manual Push-Pull Valves

The 4L & 3L Series is our robust line of manual push-pull valves, designed for clear and positive directional control. These hand-operated valves are actuated by a simple push or pull of the knob, which locks securely in each position. This detented action provides unambiguous feedback and is ideal for panel mounting on operator consoles. With options for both 5-way (4L series) and 3-way (3L series) control, these valves are a reliable and durable solution for any manual pneumatic application.

Features & Key Specifications

Features & Key Specifications of Our Push-Pull Valves:

Clear Push-Pull, Detented Action:
The knob locks firmly in both the "in" and "out" positions, providing a secure, maintained action. This prevents accidental shifting and gives a clear visual indication of the valve's status.

Dual Series for All Cylinder Types:

4L Series (5-Way): The standard choice for controlling double-acting cylinders, providing two output ports to control both the extend and retract strokes.

3L Series (3-Way): Purpose-built for single-acting (spring-return) cylinders, providing the necessary pressure/exhaust function.

Wide Operating Range:
Built for versatility, these valves function reliably in a wide temperature range of -20°C to 70°C and can operate from 0 to 0.8 MPa, making them suitable for low-pressure and vacuum applications.

Ideal for Panel Mounting:
The threaded neck and compact design make this panel mount valve easy to install on control panels, dashboards, or machine surfaces for a clean and professional operator interface.

Global Thread Compatibility:
To meet worldwide requirements, we offer three standard thread types: NPT for North America, BSPP (G), and BSPT (P).

Application Fields

The Standard Choice for Manual Panel Control:

Operator Consoles: Providing workers with clear on/off control for machine functions.

Vehicle Dashboards: Used on trucks, agricultural machinery, and mobile equipment for controlling pneumatic accessories.

Test Benches: Manually actuating a system and locking it into a specific state for testing.

Safety Lockouts: Can be used as a manual shut-off that clearly indicates the system's state.

Technical & Selection Guide

Understanding Push-Pull Valve Operation

What is a Detented Push-Pull Valve?
It is a 2-position, maintained-action valve. When you pull the knob out, it clicks and stays out. When you push it in, it clicks and stays in. Each position is held mechanically until the operator changes it. It is not a momentary (spring-return) valve.

Choosing Between 4L (5-Way) and 3L (3-Way):

Choose a 4L (5-Way) Valve for a DOUBLE-ACTING Cylinder.

Choose a 3L (3-Way) Valve for a SINGLE-ACTING Cylinder.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does this knob spring back to the center?
A: No. This is a 2-position detented valve. It is designed to lock in either the pushed or pulled position.

Q: Is this the same as a hand lever valve?
A: They are both manual valves, but the operator is different. This push-pull valve uses a knob, while a hand lever valve uses a joystick-style lever. Push-pull valves are often preferred for panel mounting because of their clean look and clear position indication.

Q: Can this valve be mounted in a panel?
A: Yes, the threaded neck is specifically designed for panel mounting. You can drill a hole in your panel, insert the valve, and secure it with a nut.
