Features & Key Specifications
Features & Key Specifications of Our SPG Series:
Reliable Tube Size Reduction:
This tube reducer fitting allows you to create a smooth, straight-line transition from a larger tube to a smaller one (or vice versa), solving common plumbing challenges in complex pneumatic systems.
Premium Stainless Steel Construction:
Available in both 304 and 316 stainless steel, these fittings offer exceptional resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and high temperatures, making them ideal for washdown environments.
Comprehensive Range of Size Combinations:
We offer a wide variety of reduction combinations to meet your needs, including metric-to-metric (e.g., 8mm to 6mm), inch-to-inch (e.g., 3/8" to 1/4"), and metric-to-inch conversions.
Food-Grade & Oil-Free Design:
Manufactured to be oil-free and compliant with the Food Hygiene Law, our food grade reducer fittings are safe for use in sanitary applications.
High-Performance FKM O-Ring:
Equipped with an FKM (Viton) O-ring that provides excellent resistance to steam, chemicals, and temperatures ranging from -20°C to 140°C.
Application Fields
The Standard for In-Line Tube Size Transitions:
System Integration: Connecting a new, smaller-diameter component to an existing larger-diameter main air line.
Flow & Speed Control: Stepping down the tube size to a smaller cylinder or actuator to help control its speed and force.
Modular Machine Building: Adapting tube sizes between different machine modules or sections.
Food & Beverage Processing: A hygienic stainless steel reducer for connecting different parts of a processing or packaging line.
Technical & Selection Guide
How to Select a Union Reducer
Choosing the right reducer is simple:
Identify the Outside Diameter (OD) of your larger tube (e.g., 10mm).
Identify the Outside Diameter (OD) of your smaller tube (e.g., 8mm).
Select the corresponding part number (e.g., S-PG10-08).
This fitting is designed for straight-line connections. If you need to change tube size and direction simultaneously, you may need to use a reducer in combination with an elbow fitting.
FAQ
Frequently Asked questions
Q: What is a "union reducer"?
A: It is a straight fitting designed to connect a larger tube on one end to a smaller tube on the other end.
Q: Can I use this to connect a metric tube to an inch tube?
A: Yes, we offer metric-to-inch reducer combinations. Please check our full datasheet or contact our sales team to find the specific part number for your required conversion (e.g., 6mm to 1/4").
Q: Does reducing the tube size affect the pressure?
A: Reducing the tube size does not significantly affect the static pressure, but it will restrict the flow (measured in L/min). This can be used intentionally to slow down an actuator or can be an important factor to consider in high-flow applications.
