When to Choose a Long Elbow (SPLL) vs. a Standard Elbow (SPL)

Choose this Long Elbow (SPLL) if:

The threaded port is recessed, and a standard elbow's body would hit the mounting surface before the thread is tight.

You need to create extra space between the tubing and the machine body.

You need to route the tube around a small, nearby obstacle.

Choose a Standard Elbow (SPL) if:

You have a standard, flush-mounted port and want the most compact 90-degree connection possible.

Q: How much longer is this fitting compared to a standard elbow?

A: The exact extension length varies by size. Please refer to the dimensional drawings on our datasheet to compare the "L1" dimension of the SPLL series with the equivalent dimension of our standard SPL series.

Q: Does the "long" part of the fitting also swivel?

A: No. The straight, extended shank is part of the threaded stud. The swivel action occurs at the point where the elbow body joins this shank, allowing the 90-degree tube connection to be oriented as needed.

Q: Is it as strong as a standard elbow?

A: Yes. It is made from the same high-quality 316/304 stainless steel and is engineered to handle the same pressure and temperature ratings as our standard SPL series.
