Features & Key Specifications of Our Hand Valves:
3-Way Safety Exhaust Function:
When the knob is turned to the "off" position, the valve blocks the inlet port and simultaneously opens the outlet port to the atmosphere. This residual pressure release is a critical safety feature for machine maintenance and servicing.
Clear On/Off Positioning:
The knob or lever provides a clear visual and tactile indication of the valve's status (open or closed), preventing operator error.
Convenient In-line Installation:
Available in tube-to-tube (HVFF) and tube-to-thread (HVFS) configurations, these valves can be quickly and easily added to any new or existing pneumatic line.
Instant Push-to-Connect Ports:
The one-touch fitting ports allow for fast and tool-free connection of nylon or polyurethane tubing.
Full Range of Metric & Imperial Sizes:
We offer a complete selection of sizes to fit both metric and imperial tubing, with a variety of thread types available.
Application Fields
Essential for Safe Control and Isolation:
Machine Isolation: Installing a hand valve at the main air inlet of a machine allows the entire machine to be safely de-energized for maintenance.
Individual Component Shut-off: Isolating a single cylinder or pneumatic tool without shutting down the entire system.
Test Benches: Providing a manual on/off control for sections of a test circuit.
System Setup & Commissioning: Safely and slowly introducing air into a new circuit during initial setup.
Technical & Selection Guide
Why a 3-Way Hand Valve is Safer than a 2-Way Ball Valve
A standard 2-way ball valve will simply trap the air in the line downstream when you close it. This trapped pressure can cause a cylinder to move unexpectedly if it is manually pushed or if another component fails.
A 3-way hand valve (this series) eliminates this risk by actively venting the trapped air to the atmosphere, ensuring the downstream circuit is truly at zero pressure and safe to work on.
FAQ
Frequently Asked questions
Q: What does "3-way" mean for this hand valve?
A: It means the valve has three ports: an inlet, an outlet, and an exhaust. In the "ON" position, inlet is connected to outlet. In the "OFF" position, the inlet is blocked, and the outlet is connected to the exhaust port to release trapped air.
Q: Can I use this valve to control the speed of a cylinder?
A: No. This is an on/off valve. To control speed, you need a dedicated speed controller or flow control valve (like our LSC or LSA series) which allows for fine adjustment.
Q: Can I use this with liquids like water?
A: These valves are primarily designed for compressed air. Using them with liquids is not recommended as the exhaust function may not be suitable.
