Features & Key Specifications
Features & Key Specifications of Our Rotary Fittings:
Continuous 360° Rotation Under Pressure:
The core feature is the integrated ball bearing system, which allows the fitting body to rotate freely and continuously at low torque, even when fully pressurized.
Eliminates Tube Twisting and Stress:
By allowing the fitting to rotate with the machine's movement, it prevents torsional stress on the pneumatic tubing, drastically extending the life of the tube and preventing connection failures.
Available in Straight (LRPC) and Elbow (LRPL) Styles:
Choose the rotary straight connector (LRPC) for inline connections, or the rotary elbow (LRPL) for 90-degree connections that also require rotation.
Universal Thread Availability (NPT, BSPP, BSPT):
To ensure global compatibility, all our rotary fittings are available in the three major international standards.
Instant Push-to-Connect Design:
The one-touch port allows for quick and easy connection of nylon or polyurethane tubing.
Full Range of Metric & Imperial Sizes:
We offer a complete selection of sizes to accommodate various tubing and thread requirements.
Application Fields
Essential for Dynamic Pneumatic Applications:
Robotics: Connecting air lines to rotating wrist and elbow joints on robotic arms.
Rotary Indexing Tables: Supplying air to clamps and actuators on a rotating table.
Automated Machinery: For any component that swivels, pivots, or rotates, such as articulating arms or rotating tool heads.
Hose Reels & Air Tools: Used as an air hose swivel connector to prevent the hose from kinking and fighting the operator.
Technical & Selection Guide
Rotary Fitting vs. Swivel Fitting: What's the Difference?
This is a critical distinction:
Rotary Fitting (This Series): Designed for DYNAMIC applications. It contains bearings and is meant to rotate continuously or frequently while under pressure.
Swivel Fitting (e.g., LPL, LPB): Designed for STATIC applications. The swivel function is only for positioning the fitting once during installation. It is not designed to rotate under pressure.
Using a swivel fitting in a dynamic application will cause rapid seal wear and premature failure.
FAQ
Frequently Asked questions
Q: What is a pneumatic rotary union?
A: It is another name for a rotary fitting. It's a device that allows the transfer of compressed air from a stationary source to a rotating piece of equipment.
Q: What is the maximum rotation speed?
A: These fittings are designed for low to moderate rotation speeds typical of pneumatic automation. For very high-speed applications (e.g., thousands of RPM), a more specialized rotary union may be required. Please consult our technical datasheet for speed ratings.
Q: Can I use this for vacuum?
A: Yes, the seal design is suitable for both positive pressure and many vacuum applications.
