By mounting directly on the actuator, this elbow flow control valve provides the most responsive and accurate control over the cylinder's speed.

360° Swivel for Easy Installation:

The fitting body can be rotated a full 360 degrees after the thread has been tightened, allowing for perfect orientation of the tubing in any direction.

Meter-Out or Meter-In Functionality:

This fitting is a unidirectional flow controller. It provides precise, adjustable flow restriction in one direction (for speed control) and allows free flow in the reverse direction.

Best Practice: Meter-Out Control

For the smoothest and most stable control of a pneumatic cylinder, it is almost always best to use the meter-out method. This means you should install the speed controller on the cylinder port in such a way that it restricts the air that is exhausting from the cylinder.

To control the extend speed, install the speed controller on the retract port.

To control the retract speed, install the speed controller on the extend port.

Q: Can this fitting be used for steam?

A: No, this fitting is not rated for the high temperatures of steam. The standard seals are designed for a maximum temperature of 60°C. For steam-compatible fittings, please see our other stainless steel series with FKM seals.
